Off the Shaft Snell Knot

This is a strong knot that you can use where the on the shaft knot is impossible.  This knot is useful on lures, spoons and body baits. If tied properly it should look like a tight coil on the outside of a hook eye hole.


Step 1.

pass the end of the line through the eye of the hook. Wrap the fishing line around it's self 5-7 times. Then pass the short end of the line through the loop you have just made.

 

 

 

 


Step 2.

Put the short end of the line through the hole you just made.

 

 

 

 

 


Step 3.

Pull tight and trim the short end close to the knot.

You have just tied your first "Off the shaft Snell Knot"
